Distinguished Speaker Series Candy Making Workshop

Thanks to everyone who attended the event. Here are the recipes for the candy we made:
Line a 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. pan with foil. Brush with butter; set aside. Place the candy coating in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave, uncovered, at 70% power for 3-4 minutes; stir until smooth. Spread into prepared pan. Sprinkle with jelly beans. Let stand until set before breaking into pieces. Yields 2 pounds.
Momoo's Mints
3 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
1 pound confectioner's sugar
1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
A few drops of food coloring
With dough hook of Kitchen Aide mixeer, mix all ingredients, scraping bowl occasionally, for 20 minutes (or mix by hand). Roll into balls, flatten with the bottom of a decorative cut glass, or mold with rubber candy molds.
Self Defense Workshop

Instructors from Defensive Arts Dojo will teach safe and effective self-defense techniques and knowledge to provide better awareness of warning signs and attacks. This class is open to men and women.
